There are two plastic hose clips on the lower part of the line. it will be a crap shoot to know which way the clamp was installed for each vehicle, but my clamp ears were facing down as seen in the picture and I was able to easily grab loosen and then get ready for the disconnection.Īt this point Both metal clamps are off, white clip and connection point on valve is disconnected. if you look on the left bottom part of the engine bay laying on the ground aft of the left front tire there is a small enough gap to access the lower hose and get some tools in there to remove the clamp. This is what I did and I did not have to remove the left front tire, the fender well cover or the battery. I tried laying across the engine, but that was not working. I’ll use clamps on the pressed areas when I reconnect. It took 2 baby flat head screwdrivers, some silicone spray & about a 1/2 hr working the edges taking care to exert minimal force. Well I got 1 off, I’ll try to salvage the other tomorrow. At this point I can either disassembly the mass of tubes & hoses blocking me & hope I can get an angle to remove the clamp or invent a way to un-press the hoses without damaging the plastic fittings. The one on the end of the short pipe has the clamp in the most inaccessible angle possible. 1 on the longer pipe was fairly accessible after removing the battery, battery box, left front wheel & a small wheel well shield. The furthest ends of the 2 bottom pipes have hose clamps. The bottom pipe & the 2 pipes coming off a T adapter are presses on to sharp plastic barbs. The valve top pipe is held in with a plastic clip easy to disassemble. Dealer sells the assemble for about $129 part number 16260-F0010 pipe asy-water by-pass. To remove you need to remove a 2 pin connector (I broke it) a top hose held in with a large plastic clip & 3 hoses tee’d into the bottom of the bypass valve/sensor. Several hoses are pressed on & very difficult to detach without damaging the plastic connector barbs. I’ve read on other posts that the dealer will charge as much as $900.
